In Daegu

I am now in Daegu, which is in the south of the country. I really like it here so far. It's a lot more manageable than Seoul, which is a maze of shops, apartments, alleys, street vendors, and more. Everything is crunched together, all space is utilized, and the streets seem to be continually full of traffic. It's a nice place to visit, but I'm glad I'm not living there. Daegu is much more wide open and you can find some peace and quiet.

I've also met some of the other faculty and my managers. They are all cool people and I think I will like teaching here. The new term starts Monday.
